What is meant by remedial works and how can we help?

12 January 2022

You may not be able to smell, hear or see electricity, but it still presents a long list of dangers, with electric shock and arc flashes causing devastation and even death without the right management.

For UK business premises, maintaining good electrical safety isn’t just a moral obligation that will protect you and your workers, it’s a legal requirement. As the commercial electrical testing specialists, we use more than 25 years of experience and our UK wide coverage to ensure the highest standard of electrical safety across the country.

In addition to providing inspection and compliance testing, our engineers offer remedial works to stop electrical safety issues in their tracks. But what exactly are remedial works and how can our electrical remedial services help you?

What are remedial works and why are they important?

Remedial works can be delivered to ensure any faults or upgrades required to your fixed installation can be carried out and the electrical safety of your working environment restored. Our inspections can highlight serious concerns, which can be successfully rectified with remedial works.

Issues like overload situations can put you and your workers at significant risk. But thanks to our expertise providing remedial works, you can remain compliant with the latest legislation, and upgrade, replace or repair systems for optimum safety.

Is it just electrical systems you provide a remedial service for?

Here at Electrical Testers, we provide remedial services for more than just fixed installations. Our experience inspecting and testing fire alarms and emergency lighting means we’re well placed to rectify failures in these systems too.

How are remedial works carried out by Electrical Testers?

The first step towards remedial action is inspection. With this, you’ll receive a report (where required) in plain English identifying the issues and defects affecting your installations. This report will include our recommendations on the works and the required timescales for completion. Some repairs may need to be completed immediately whilst others may be able to wait.

Our engineers will provide a quotation for the remedial works. Again our quotes are provided in plain English, and offer a full breakdown so you know exactly what needs to be done and for how much. All quotes provided by our engineers are ECA bonded and Part P approved to provide peace of mind and a completion guarantee should you instruct us to go ahead with the works.
